Terrorisms as a global Issue Terrorism All Over the World Introduction In this report I would like to discuss the problem of terrorism as a global issue. It is a global problem because in these times terroristic attacks can happen in any country of the world. Terrorists, most of the times, resort to violence
MEDIA FRAMING OF ABORTION AS A CONTEMPORARY SOCIAL ISSUE IN NIGERIA AND THE UNITED STATE OF AMERICA. Abortion as a contemporary social issue has been a subject of discourse which affects millions of people all over the world cutting across race, color, tribe, religion, and ethnicity; and it is referred
Gender inequality exists to some extent, in most areas of society, in all countries of the world In the year 1970, Ether Boserup believed women as having been left behind in the development process. Has this changed over the years and are the gender inequalities Boserup believed still there? To find

Participation in sport is as much a gender issue as it is a development issue’.

Discuss this statement. (10)

Leisure can be defined as any freely chosen activity or experience that takes place in non-work time.

Today, it has been found that the global population use sport and sport related activities as a means of leisure. One of the key issues with sport today is the gender inequalities in terms of participation in sport as well as the inequalities of sport development in certain countries. It is a global issue, as female participation in sport is lower than male participation in all countries of the world.

There are important inequalities that must be outlined in order to raise awareness that participation in sport is as much a gender issue as it is a development issue. The USA and Sudan are examples that may be used to clearly identify the inequalities of both gender and development participation in sport in a spectrum.

One of the main inequalities in gender participation in sport is the lack equality of event winnings.

For example, in Tennis, it can be found that, in any given open event, the top prize of the Men’s event is more than double than that of the womens top prize. In Wimbledon 2016, it was recorded that the winning male received almost 2 million British Pounds compared to the Women’s top prize of 1.1 million pounds. Another clear indication of the inequality of gender participation in sport is the fact that Muslim and other religious women cannot participate in mixed gender sports due to their uniform and values.

For example, there is a very small number of muslim women swimmers, as the sport requires the athlete to wear an approved uniform, in fact, in any Olympic level competition, there has never been any muslim swimmers that have competed. In addition to this, women also receive far less wages in any competitive sport, for example, the French Womens Football team in contrast to the Mens Football team, has as much as half of the average pay of .....[read full text]

Sudan can be considered a less economically developed country (LEDC) and thus its success in sport is much lower than that of America’s. Sudan is considered to be a muslim religious country, which further decreases the amount of participation of women in sport, is due to the religious bounds of Islam. As Sudan is a LEDC, it has less developed facilities that can be used to help athletes to become successful, thus the participation in sport for people, especially women, is far less in Sudan than it is in the USA.

Climate also plays a role, as for countries like Sudan, there are little advantages when it comes to climate, as it does not possess any mountainous regions, which improves an athletes concentration of red blood cells, thus they are more successful as they are fit.....
