The first is Rick De­ckard, a bo­un­ty hun­ter for the San Fran­cis­co Po­li­ce De­part­ment, who­se job is to re­ti­re (kill) an­dro­ids. The se­cond is John Isi­do­re, a man wi­th a re­du­ced men­tal ca­pa­ci­ty due to ra­dio­ac­ti­ve dust, who is forced in­to pro­tec­ting ro­gue an­dro­ids. The sto­ry be­g­ins when Rick De­ckard awa­kens to find that his elec­tric sheep has mal­func­tion­ed and must be re­pai­red.
