Why in the 21st century respect began to lose its relevance? Why does respect become not fashionable for the younger generation? Everywhere one can observe the boorish attitude of young people to old people, their parents and to their friends. Without shame you can offend a person, raise your voice.
Has the world changed so much? Has human values changed? But after all, respect is primarily formed in the family, then at school, etc. Perhaps the principle of permissiveness in modern society, the desire for pseudo-democracy, equality, and a free personality, led to the degradation of society.
I want to tell you about the incident which has happened at the university between two students. It was a break when two students were having a conversation in the corridor. When the break was over, the third student- Janet called these two students to come back to the class.
One of the student looked at her as if to say «You are so rude! Can’t you see that I am in the social conversation? » . Janet felt irritated.
By the behavior of the first student, it made me to understand, that she behaves disrespectful to her classmate. Janet asked politely to them that the break was over and it was time to go to the class. But they continued the conversation and instead of going to the class, the first student looked at her angry.
I think, it was not so necessary to continue the conversation. By the way, these students could continue the conversation after the lessons where nobody could interfere them. I was surprised that she didn’t even apologize for her behavior.
By the behavior of Janet, it seemed to me, that she was pretty smart girl, who likes studying and good faith in learning. I think, Janet did the right thing, warning girls that the break was over.
