I was so shy before joining the exchange program that rarely does I actively talk to others except for my close friends.
My social expressiveness, thus, was in a relatively low-level and I usually found that there were difficulties for me in expressing myself clearly. I, moreover, was not likely to engage others in a communication. Therefore, at the beginning of the exchange tour, I had nearly no interactions with my new classmates in Japan as I did not know anything about them. However, even some of them invited me to join their communication, such as to share about the hobbies or interests, but I did not respond to them in anyways.
After a while, my teacher realized and discovered my inactive attitude, so they advised me to meet more friends in this unusual chance.
Seldom did I start talking with people who were not familiar with me, but I started to change myself especially for one of my weaknesses, social expressiveness.
Since I had got little chances to talk with others due to my personality, I actually did not fully understand how to perform and express my own feelings and ideas to others. Nevertheless, with the continuous encouragement from my teachers and close friends, I took my first step to initiate the talking with the new classmates in Osaka and they were very welcome so that we become friends after just a while.
The accumulation of the talking experiences enhanced my level relating to social expressiveness, and it made me become more confident than before to express my view and opinion in front of even stranger.....[read full text]
After reflecting my poor social performance, I first apologized to all of the students and started to listen more from them to understand what is the need of them.
I, eventually, could make a good cooperation with them that I could have a satisfactory social interaction and perform a socially- acceptable teacher-student relationship and behaviour in front of them.....
