1) Explain the idea of Party – State in China. Examine the pros and cons of adopting such a system in Chinese politics.
China, which has around 1,300 million people, is the most population country in the world. So, how the government govern so many people? In reality, China is ruled by the biggest party – Chinese Communist Party. Although there are other eight party in China, Chinese Communist Party controls absolute power, exercises sovereignty on behalf of the country, and controls the operation of the state machine.
Other Party do not have any real power, and no one can challenge the Chinese Communist Party. This is known as Party-State, the Chinese Communist Party is equals, controlling, ruling and representing the State. It is Party-Centered.
The major pillars of China are Presidency, State Council, National People Congress, National Committee, and Central Military Commission. Here will using the pillars and social situation to explain how Party-State is happen in China.
The Presidency is Xi Jinping now, previous Presidency is Hu Jintao, Jiang Zemin so on. If we pay attention, we can find that they all are the General Secretary of Chinese Communist Party. Each Presidency is also one of the committee members of the politburo, which is core of power in the Chinese Communist Party.
