Global warming. A human’s fault?
Water shortage in Africa, millions of
people don’t know where to go, conflicts and wars about resources and land
these will be the effects of global warming. Is it our fault? We are human
beings we are part of the nature moreover we are created by Mother Nature is it
possible that we could destroy our own planet? Scientists, politicians and
people from the industry have often discussed this topic.
Unfortunately the strongest arguments say
it’s our fault.
The abundance of fossil fuel and the greedy
for profit and wealth in the western world is one of the main reasons for
global warming. Our industry emits billions of tonnes of CO2 every day which is
a very aggressive greenhouse gas. This unnatural amount heats up the world’s
temperature dramatically. Scientists have given us the evidence between our CO2
emissions and global warming. Al Gore won the Nobel Prize for Peace with his
speeches about global warming but there are still people, often from the
industry who don’t believe all these facts.
Moreover, the hunger of wood and cheap beef
in America and Europe leads to another big problem. Countries like Brazil or
Indonesia cut and burn down their huge rainforests to produce soya and to build
cattle farms. The enormous deforestation and especially the big fires producing
a giant amount of CO2. The landscape on which rainforests normally grow is
often very swampy and full of CO2. It is again the greed of western countries
and the cruel exploitation of third world countries which are the reasons for
global warming. Besides, twenty years ago two big countries with very big
population developed from third world countries to leading industrial
countries. China and India need as much resources and fuel as we do and
moreover they emit as much emissions as we do. Unfortunately we have got only
one planet and our earth is not able to handle our selfish way of life any
more. More and more poor countries will recognize that the western countries’
wealth is built on their poverty, their resources and their lack of knowledge.
Nobody can forbid these countries to make the same mistakes we made but if our
politicians won’t find fair solutions against global warming the world will
become a place of wars, hunger, water shortage and other conflicts. It is our
duty to find ways to stop our emissions, to stop them in making the same
mistakes we are doing and did and to find sustainable energies to create a
place for coming generations. Although, the sun is the biggest energy source
around us we haven’t used the power enough. We should think about treaties with
African countries to build solar collectors in Tunis or Morocco to feed our
appetite for energy.
All in all one can say that we have to face
the consequences, it is our fault but it is also our opportunity. We only have
one earth to live on and so all people around the world should think about the
effects they have on the world’s climate. Maybe riding a bike is more clever
than driving a big car.
