That means their sequence of bases in their DNA is exactly the same. A DNA consists out of 4 bases. Twins are an example for being clones, because they do have exactly the same DNA. Another example is a Bacterium. It can clone/ replicate himself and is used in science. The 3 types of cloning: It is…
Obama about Abortion, Same Sex Marriage and Stem Cell Research
In the following pages I will explain president Barack Obama’s thoughts about Abortion, Same Sex Marriage and Stem Cell Research, beginning with abortion.
Obama is, other than Governor Mitt Romney, pro-choice. That means he thinks the women should have the choice if they want to be pregnant and be liable for a child or not. His opinion is that it’s the woman’s right to choose what happens her own body, and if they don’t want to have a child they shouldn’t be forced to keep it.
He also thinks that the government should not intrude on private family matters.
Obama wants to promote adoption, support pregnant women and mothers and encourage healthy relationships.
He also says that young women should talk to their parents before they consider abortion, but he also knows that not all the girls have a good relationship to their mother and father. These young women should seek the advice of trusted adults before they make their choice.
About Planned Parenthood Obama says: “Thanks to all of you at Planned Parenthood for all the work that you are doing for women all across the country and for families all across the country.”
Obamas statement on federal funding of abortions was: “Abortions will not be covered in the Pre-existing Condition Insurance Plan except in the cases of rape or incest, or where the life of the woman would be endangered.”
Obama’s point of view about same sex marriage
Fundamentally president Barack Obama is, other than Mitt Romney, for same sex marriages, but he always has an inner conflict with himself because it’s not right in social religious beliefs. He was not sure about gay marriages for a long time, because he thought civil unions would be enough and the word marriage includes a long, powerful tradition and religious belief.

Obama also thinks about the people in war who cannot live the way they want because gay marriages are not allowed. A new step towards equal rights is already made: by ending “Don’t ask, don’t tell” gay people will no longer be forced by patriotic Americans to leave the army and not be able to serve the country they love because they are gay. Nobody has to live a lie anymore and gays are finally allowed to serve for their country.
On LGBT he says that it’s clear that the gay and lesbian community in this country feels victimized in fairly powerful ways and they’re often hurt by not just certain teachings of the Catholic Church, but the Christian faith generally.
As a Christian Obama is constantly not sure what’s right and what’s wrong, he says he is ‘constantly wrestling with his faith and his solicitude and regard and concern for gays and lesbians’.
On marriage Obama says that it’s a union between a man and a woman. For him as a Christian this union is sacred.
He is also shocked about the young people who got bullied because they were gay and committed suicide. In his opinion nobody is picked for being gay and these people did nothing wrong. He feels with the bullied people and wants them to stay strong, no matter what other people say. He stands up for them and supports them.
Obama allows federal funding for stem cell research and signed an executive order on March 9, 2009 that reverses former Bush’s August 2001 order. This order limits stem cell research on only 21 of 135 eligible lines. The new order does not lift the ban on funding for research on developing new lines of stem cells.
He gets unexpected support from Nancy Reagan, who says she’s grateful that president Barack Obama has lifted the restrictions on federal funding for embryonic stem cell research. His new rules will make it possible for scientists to move forward and discover the medication that is needed by countless amounts of people.
Ex-president George W. Bush would not allow embryonic stem cell research for the reason that the embryos are destroyed after they were used for the researches and that kills human life. He only allowed federal funding for research with already existing embryonic stem cells.
All in all I think that Obama did a good job to improve the U.S.A. in the last years and if he gets reelected he could change even more. By permitting embryonic stem cell research scientists could finally discover the needed medication for people who suffer from aids or cancer, and that’s in my opinion one of the most important goals we should have in mind during the election.
