Grade 11

Project Topic: Helping the C-youth at TUS Kleefeld as a Co-Trainer

Table of content:

  1. Reasons for selecting this project

  2. Reasoned content focus

    1. What role do we play during their practice?

    2. The philosophy behind creating a concept that fits the group well

    3. Why did we choose to be co trainers for TUS Kleefeld and not any other soccer club?

    4. How does the youth work in Tus Kleefeld work?

  3. Training plan for the 1. Semester 2017/2018

  4. Example of a planned practice

    1. Reasons for selecting this project

    1. I have been connected to this soccer club since I started playing soccer. I have been a longtime member in that club since I have been 5 years old. (see picture above) Even though I stopped playing soccer when I was 11 years old I didn’t lose the connection to the club, because my brother is still playing for TUS Kleefeld and I have often been to games from his team.

    2. Over all being able to connect with the children that live in your neighborhood and passing your knowledge down to them is an awesome way to help the community. I love to help people not only with sports but with everything they ask me to help them with. The feeling you have after you helped someone and they thank you for it is just awesome.

    3. I like to see people getting along with each other. In a soccer team you can see people from many different cultures and different backgrounds connect, work and play with each other. I don’t only think that it is important that they learn how to play soccer but they should learn how to get along with each other and how they can communicate best with one another.

My hope is that I can pass them this knowledge down in a fun and interesting way.

      1. Reasoned content Focus

The most important content that we will have to focus on is

      1. What role do we play during their practice?

      2. The philosophy behind creating a concept that fits the group well

      3. Why did we choose to be co trainers for TUS Kleefeld and not any other soccer club?

      4. How does the youth work at TUS Kleefeld work?

Reference to the first focus point

We, as their co-trainers don’t have it as easy as the main coach to connect with the players because we just started and we will have to get to know the group first and gain their trust. From the beginning we will have to act like role models. We are the older, cool, guys.

We have to show them the discipline and we will have to behave well, so they also will. We have to act serious and can’t joke around, when we want the players .....[read full text]

Reference to the third focus point

We choose to be co trainers for Tus Kleefeld for several reasons.

First, we played in one of their soccer teams some time ago and it is the soccer club that we started playing soccer in. It is not just like any other soccer club for us, as already mentioned above.

Second, because my brother is still playing soccer for TUS Kleefeld, we know what is going on in that club and what some of their problems are. One huge problem has always been that they don’t have enough coaches for all the teams. They are always glad and thankful, when someone helps them in being a co trainer.

Third, I myself am living in Kleefeld and I like to support the locals sport clubs. Of course we could have chosen another, better club that isn’t based in Kleefeld but that would have not felt the same because I would have known that my local club, that I started playing soccer in could also use my help as a co trainer.

Reference to the fourth focus point

    1. Requirements for group members

At TUS Kleefeld everyone can join the teams, no matter how good their knowledge and skill is. The only condition is that they are willing to show some effort and regular appearance at games and practice. The main goal is to build a bond between the players within each other but also with the coach.

The members will have to show that they are capable of ful.....

As an example we can use the practice unit practice in small groups on November the 29th. The children will have to split into small, equal groups. Each group will be doing the same exercises. In this practice unit, they will learn how to communicate better with each other.

We will have to show them how important communication is by letting them play in a small field. They get one ball and they have to pass each other de ball real quick. We need to tell them, that they have to shout the name of the player that they want to pass to so they know that they will receive the ball.

They will also learn to pass, that means they will learn to pass the ball, to receive the ball and to communicate and all of that in a controlled way. If they have a miscommunication, the whole team will have to run one round around the small field, bounded by cones.
