Poem Analysis of This Is A Photograph Of Me by Margaret Atwood The following analysis is based on Margaret Atwood’s This Is A Photograph Of Me. The poem can be found in her collection The Circle Game, which was published in 1964. In the poem the lyric persona is describing, either to the reader or to another, unknown, fictive addressee, a photograph taken of them, as the title already indicates. They describe a landscape consisting of a house, trees, hills and a lake. Half-way through the poem, there’s a change in atmosphere. Previously, the reader had been feeling comfortable and the speaker transferred an air of melancholy with their speech. The reader may even feel bored.
