Weed as a Medicine

Many people believe that marijuana is a highly addictive highly dangerous drug. This however is not true. Marijuana or weed has been known to cure or help prevent things such as glaucoma, chronic pain, arthritis, migraines, most cell mutation problems, many forms of cancer, insomnia, skin conditions, infections, diabetes, warts, moles, ulcers, burns, asthma, anxiety, depression, regulation of body weight, it heals scar tissue, it rejuvenates vital organs, and more. Richard Simpson was a Canadian who gave away hemp oil to cancer patients. This oil cured multiple people from things as severe as cancer to simple things such as wart removal. This man saved lives of Canadians every-were and was later shut down. This has to do with physical science is that this all has to do with chemicals and their function.

You may be asking how weed can help people I was always told it was boy for you. Well I don’t blame you now Days with so many anti Drugs programs we are being told that Drugs are bad. What those programs don’t tell you is which Drugs are bad and what they do to you. Marijuana is just as much a medicine as Aspirin or whatever else you have in your medicine cabinet. Now the question is HOW marijuana can cure some forms of cancer. Well answers started in the 90’s when scientist located receptors that bond with the cannabinoids present in weed. Receptors are like locks and when unlocked messages can be scent throughout the body such as that the body is in pain or that the amund system must attack something. Scientist located two receptors the CB1 receptor (found mostly in the brain) and the CB2 receptor (mainly in cells of the amund system. The Cb1 receptors, although mostly in the brain are also found throughout the body in the major organs including the heart liver lungs kidney and pancreas as the CB2 receptor can act like a target for the cannabinoids and when they bind with the receptor they can tell the cancer cells to die. The scientist who tested this were able to destroy almost all the cancer cells in test tubes, however weren’t sure what the results would be when they tested tumors in mice. To their surprise 25%-30% of the mice were completely 100% cured and the rest saw a large reduction. This system is how weed can cure thing that aren’t just cancer but dozens more desises that kill our friends and family.

Now this is just one study I found about the success of weed as a medicine. So why isn’t weed legal when it has been in use as medicine since 7000 B.C? Well, it was until the 1930’s, in 1935 scientist developed a machine that would allow us to effectively process hemp fiber, which was revolutionary because hemp has HUGE industrial uses, but because it was so hard to process more people used cotton. Only two years later lumber industries founded movies such as Refer Madness that gave the world a false image of what weed does and so it was made illegal. Economics still play a big deal in the illegalization of marijuana as pharisaical companies, alcohol companies, tobacco companies, and many other major corporations would lose millions of dollars if hemp was legal. In fact partnership for drug free America is largely founded by alcohol companies. Fortunately Medical cannabis has become legal in 15 states including Washington D.C.

Now marijuana is still a drug and like all drugs there are still side effects. Of course these are different to different people and may not affect one person as it does another. Short term effects include slight short term memory loss, increased heart rate, and distorted perception and under massive doses breast enlargement in males. This all depends on how much you take and is different for different people. Marijuana is a useful medicine and should, in my opinion, should be legal in the United States.
